Bears, and fluff, and felt....oh my!

Yes, I know I've shared my non-enthusiastic feelings about felt, but when Grace asked if we could get some felt to craft with, I couldn't say no. So, this week's projects include felt embellishments we made using our QuicKutz dies.

Here I used the Scrapbuggy exclusive bear cub die, QK scalloped edgers, the cookie cutter acorn shape, and the Rainbow 4x8 alphabet. This is Feliciano in his swim trunks on one of their camping trips last summer. I couldn't resist flipping the letters around in my title to play off his cute bare feet and the cute bear cub.

Bear cub fuzzed-up with Doodlebug fluffy stuff (I forget what it's called as I type this! LOL), and green felt leaf.

Felt leaves, acorns, and pinecones for the border, and the larger acorn happened to be the perfect size for the other "O" in my title.

For this Mila page I used lots of QK flowers. The papers are My Mind's Eye, Quite Contrary, tickets are by Tim Holtz. This was the same camping trip as the photo of Feliciano in the layout above.

Bling is Imaginisce i-Rock. Love my i-Rock!!

Grace wanted to sew buttons, so we layered the felt flower shapes and she sewed them together with buttons and embroidery floss.

Thanks for looking! :)

  1. Do you use a special technique to cut the felt? as I have struggled with QK dies and non paper products in the past.

  2. Hi Lorna. Thanks for your comment.

I used craft felt to cut the shapes. It's thinner than regular sewing felt. I put a piece of cardstock under the die to make it a little more 'snug' when running through the machine. Also, removing the foam from the die before cutting makes it cut better. HTH!

  4. Great Layout. I was looking at the i-Rock the other day but I convinced myself not to get it. So tell me, why do you love your i-rock so much? Maybe I really need it after all LOL.
